UPDATE: Louisa County Water Authority is easing the mandatory water restrictions for all customers connected to the Zion Crossroads and New Bridge public water systems. Update: Louisa County Water Authority is easing the mandatory water restrictions for all customers connected to the Zion Crossroads and New Bridge public water systems.1) WATERING of outside shrubbery, trees, lawns, grass, plants, home vegetable gardens, or any other vegetation, can resume with the following conditions; if your address is an even number, you can water on even days, if your address is an odd number, you can water on odd days. Any irrigation practices will be permitted before 7:00 am or after 8:00 pm.2) WASHING of automobiles, trucks, trailers, or any other type of mobile equipment is now allowed. If your address is an even number, you can wash on even days, if your address is an odd number, you can wash on odd days.3) WASHING of sidewalks, streets, driveways, parking lots, service station aprons, exteriors of homes or apartments, commercial or industrial buildings or any other outdoor surface is allowed. If your address is an even number, you canwash on even days, if your address is an odd number, you can wash on odd days.4) OPERATING of ornamental fountains or other structures making a similar use of water is now allowed.5) FIRE HYDRANT USE for bulk water sales is allowed at approved hydrants and upon scheduling ahead with Louisa County Water Authority staff. (540-967-1122) Daily limits will be applied and NO after hours bulk water sales will be permitted.6) OPERATION of water-cooled comfort air conditioning that does not have water-conservation equipment in operation is allowed.If conditions begin to deteriorate, emergency mandatory restrictions may be reimposed. Citizens are encouraged to monitor changing weather conditions and adjust water usage accordingly.“While we are easing mandatory restrictions implemented in July, the fact that water is a precious commodity will not change. We consistently monitor our resources to ensure safe and compliant delivery to all our customers, and we will continue to protect our systems should severe drought conditions return. We appreciate your continued conservation efforts."
